SceneryNorthumberland is an ideal destination for a holiday in the British Isles. It is the least densely populated county in England and its National Park is the most remote and unspoilt of all the English National Parks. Northumberland has more castles open to the public than any other English county, and one of its major landmarks, Hadrians Wall, is the largest world heritage site in Britain. Around BrantonThese photographs were taken around Branton, just a stone's throw from the cottage. Click on the images to enlarge them. Thanks to Steve Freeburn who took the last four photos below while staying at the cottage in July 2007. The sheep were taken from the front door! Further afieldBelow are some of the places you might see on a day out from Branton. See Excursions for more information.
